This isn’t the place to go into the full details but I will be ending my placement at the end of November. This last year has been an unforgetable experience. Not only have I learned a lot (and hopefully shared some skills along the way) but I have seen the City of Ende’s waste management program continue to grow and improve.
What this means is that I will be leaving Ende November 14th, so that I can travel to Bali for the VSO Sectoral Workshop and Annual Volunteer Conference before my final exit interview. It’s all happening so quickly but I think in this situation, change is good. It has been such a joy to work with VSO and I have met so many amazing people along the way (see my new series on The People You Meet). I will be making a slight detour to the Philippines before returning to Canada.
My hope when I return is that I will be able to share my experience and lessons learned working in Waste Management with as many people as possible. If you know of a community group, school, office, etc... that would be interested in hearing about my work please put them in contact with me.
